For 50 days Modi Jee give us these 5 things

Okay,  Indians will give you 50 days to make things normal. Lets hope you will be able to get ATMs to start dispensing cash. Lets hope you can make sure that everyone who doesn’t have a bank account is also able to change his or her currency and get started. But all of this will be well begun half done if you don’t do the following things. Worst, some of us will also start questioning the point of this exercise.

  1. Keep a limit on cash withdrawals from banks for ever. You can only withdraw so much cash in a calendar year. If it needs a new ordinance so be it. If there are no limits on cash withdrawals from banks then we will be back to square one. If you can’t legally limit then make the process difficult.
  2. Build a national invoicing system- one single software that everyone needs to use to print invoices.  For instance Delhi government has a single system that connects all their liquor shops. No more back entries in the books. Those who are not online please connect them using digital India mission.
  3. Introduce a cash transaction tax. Any cash transaction that is done will require a 10% tax. I’m sure you have smart people who can figure out how to do this.
  4. Make political parties including BJP disclose the source of donations- both cash and cheque.  Accountability has to start from your yard and rest of us will follow
  5. Digitise all land and building records. Make sure property cannot be purchased or sold without confirming the title on the digital records and not below the circle rates.  PAN already is compulsory. No PAN, No Property .

Start with suggestions 4 and 5. We are ready to face the brunt of demonetisation. We want to see if you are ready too: 🙂

I hope these things are already planned because I believe that you and your team is quite smart and have the right intent.

Kejriwal vs the rest of us

You have to admire Kejriwal. He and  AAP has single handedly brought BJP’s  election  juggernaut to a halt and in lots of knots. This means lots of digestion problems. First BJP has  to digest Kiran Bedi ( or throw her out ). Then they have to digest the possibility of not be able to form government in Delhi. And finally they have to digest arrogance. From now on no slogans only accha karma 🙂

See the point is it doesn’t matter so much whether AAP forms government in Delhi or not.  But if BJP is not able to form government in Delhi it will be nothing but defeat. Period.

If BJP  loses in Delhi it means from now on the only way is down. And that is why the whole of BJP is in Delhi trying to make sure that they win and win convincigly.

BJP should be  shit worried of loss in Delhi because after Mumbai, Delhi is the second largest city getting high on stock market and real estate also known to some of us as  #acchedin. And if here they are not able to convince  of acche din then BJP has  no chance in other places where all people have got is promises and slogans.  Worst they might end up inspiring Rahul Gandhi to wake up from slumber. Get ready for another bout of escape velocity, women empowerment and poverty mental make models.

I personally have only two observations on Delhi Election. BJP should not act as bully and resort to personal attacks on Kejriwal. Remember what happened when Mani Shankar Aiyer made the chai wala remark on Modi.

Second Kejriwal should know that Ceaser’s wife should be above suspicion. You just can’t take donation from Bogus companies. You are a Taxman. You know better.

In the end my sense is we are staring at hung assembly in Delhi but the verdict is loud and clear. It is Kejriwal -1 and Rest of us + BJP+ Acche din =0

Lets wake up hung and high on 10th 🙂

This General Election be Selfish

Yes, this election time to be selfish. yes truly selfish. But let me paraphrase Nipun Mehta first. Be selfish but take a moment to understand what is your self interest

First of all these are M.P ( Member of Parliament)  elections, which means people will get elected to make laws to the Indian parliament. So no point of voting for candidates you think can fix your water problems. You need to think about what is good for the country . You also need make sure that criminals are out of the parliament. So even if God himself is contesting and has a case against him in a Indian court then please don’t vote for him/her.

In these elections you are more likely to vote for a party and not so much for the individual. In my opinion our choices are clearly split between BJP, Congress, AAP and regional parties. And off course we can use NOTA ( None of the above).

So what’s up with BJP. There is clearly some momentum they have but its all Modi. Like someone pointed out that why there is so much of fuss around Modi fighting from two seats, he is virtually fighting from all the 545 seats. So yes if Modi is your man then vote for BJP.

Congress seems to be at an odd place. Rahul G appears very sincere. He is making the right noises but it is often too little too late. While he leads the party its unlikely he will even be ready to put a fight like Modi. Either Rahul has too much to lose or nothing to lose. It often intrigues me that you come across people who are staunch supporter of BJP, Modi, AAP but no one gives that much love to Congress. That in my opinion is something Congress needs to fix before its too late for the grand old party.

Regional parties are more like congress by other name with the exception of may be Behenji’s BSP. So you want special package for your own state do vote for them. Or if you want Free TV, Laptop, Bicycle, Rice, Idly etc etc.

That brings us to my favourite party AAP. Like a lot of us I have gone through this phase of AAP being the answer to all the problems that we face in India to “seriously man what was I smoking”.  Am I cross with AAP. Yes. Why, because in no time they have started behaving like other political parties. They had this tag line- we have come not to do politics but change politics. This is what attracted a lot of us to to join the movement. But they turned to be like everyone else. There is a high command culture in the party. All the elites are running the show.

While I still remains a believer in the emergence of Aam Aadmi in politics my wish for AAP is that they should lose all the seats in this election. That is the only way that they will come back to their true purpose of Swaraj and bring watershed change in Indian politics. AAP is still the only hope for the poor and marginalised in India. But AAP needs to go through a internal purge else they will become exactly like Congress or even worst and in 30 years from now Kejriwal’s grand daughter will be leading the party.

So coming back to selfish. Vote. That is the only way to make sure you have played a part in nation building. Vote. For someone you think can make Indian a great country. Vote. For your self interest but remember that you are a Indian and will always be a Indian.

And don’t believe too much on what you read in the press .They are anyways acting in their own self interest and so should you.

AAP, Tejpal and Modi

The last 2 weeks have been interesting to say the least.  The heroes ( allegedly) have fallen. But Heroes fall only to rise again at least in poetry. I feel beyond the clutter and the noise things are actually much simpler.

First AAP

AAP is a bold attempt at politics. I had known Arvind Kejriwal who leads AAP for a brief while during Ashoka Fellowship days. He is a man of impeccable honesty. You  may argue that he and his candidates might change  once in power etc etc. But we know for sure how BJP and Congress behaves when they are in  power. So this time give AAP a chance, worst they will turn to be like BJP/Congress. But we can only know this once we give them this chance.  And remember its only 5 years. What damage they can do what other parties have not done to India so far. So this December give AAP a chance. Change is good.

Second Tarun Tejpal

You read his apology letter and you immediately realize ” The pen is mightier than sword”. The deed has been done. Brand Tarun Tejpal is finished. His (media) trial has already begin. He knows better that powerful people like him have both powerful friends and enemies. He should have been more careful. Here is word of caution to all those who are now beating their chest and occupying moral high ground to punish him. We are only innocent till caught and the slope from moral high ground is very slippery”

Third Modi

We are 66 years into independence and still clean water in taps and un-interrupted electricity is not available to anyone other than those who live in Lutyens Delhi. All the left liberals who don’t waste a second making Modi into a monster also live around Lutyens Delhi. Their “Daal-Roti” is dependent on India being poor, under fed and miserable. Then only India  makes it into a nice speech in the Durbars in the west. The elections in India this time are about getting water, electricity  and good roads.. things that Congress has promised us in their 58 years of rule in India. People are just tired of waiting for the water to come and the promises to be fulfilled. A vast majority of people believe that Modi can deliver bijlee-paani to them. Don’t believe me.. speak to your auto Rickshaw guy next time you get in one.

After all Rahul is learning from Modi

Rahul gandhi is trying to a do a Modi. He is trying to establish that he is different, he can take risks and when needed he can stand up to what he believes in.

He needs to be congratulated for this ordinance act and not rubbished.  He has not undermine the PM or insulted him.

And for God’s sake let’s not shed tears for the PM or the office of PMO. The sanctity of PMO was lost when the coal files went missing or when the 2G scam came into picture.   Honestly  our PM must be happy that Rahul Gandhi has done what he should have done.  And may be it was all planned. The timing was perfect- PM was outside the country so no media rushed to ask him questions about Rahul’s sudden outbursts.

Modi at the moment is bigger then BJP. Take him out of the PM candidate role and I doubt if many people will vote for BJP. Congress till recently didn’t had a serious contender to the Modi challenge. But with his views  on the Ordinance Rahul Gandhi has just challenged his opponent.

Congress needed a new armor to save them from complete defeat in the coming LS elections.  Stand with the likes of Mulayam and Lalu and Masood Rashid and your defeat is guaranteed. Sacrifice these guys and suddenly you have  fighting chance.

Congress needed a white knight and I guess he has arrived.

Go Rahul Gandhi Go. Now strike down the Governments attempt to tinker with RTI and pass the Lokpal bill too. Then we can be on your side.  After all our first love is not Modi or Gandhi, it is India.
