Our future in not very different from what Orwell predicted, it has actually arrived lock stock and barrel in our country. The arrest of two young girls on some innocent Facebook status is a shocking example of that.
We are the world’s biggest authoritarian Police state with may be with the exception of China. Don’t let the words ” World’s biggest democracy” fool you for a moment. Atleast the Chinese don’t pretend that they are a democracy.
I wonder how we have managed to get there. Did we ever got independence or we just made the British left and replaced them with a even more draconian system that systematically disenfranchises and disempowers its citizens. The same people who are supposed to protect and uphold the Indian Constitution are our tormentors.
What is evident to a layman is waiting for some high level enquiry. Not a single word from prime minister, home minister or anyone remotely connected with authority to condemn what has happened in Mumbai. May be secretly all of them are smiling that it is good that it has happened so that no one will dare do anything to criticize anything.
Yesterday was a sad day in the history of India- the destruction of what ever India and our thousand year old civilisation stands for is complete.
